And the nominees are…
I was deeply honoured and touched at being nominated for
The Brisbane City Council Lord Mayor’s
Citizen of the Year Australia Day Award.
The 2018 Lord Mayor’s Australia Day Awards recognised Brisbane’s unsung heroes and paid tribute to the special people in our community who have gone above and beyond to help improve the lives of others and contribute to the city’s vision of a diverse, friendly and strong community.
Thank you to our local State Member of Parliament, Steve Minnikin for presenting me with a Certificate of Congratulations for the work I’ve done in our local community over many, many years.
Thank you to those who nominated me, Steve mentioned that there were a huge number of applications/nominations.
The Men’s Shed – Creating Community
I’ve been a member of the Carina Mens Shed for about 5 years.
The comradery is lovely and the skills the guys have is fantastic!
– Glass making
– Leather work
– Repair work
and that is just to name a few!
I pop by regularly to catch up with the blokes and see the projects they are working on.
We are a group of men who get together in a safe and friendly environment to socialise and to engage in common interests
New members are always welcome. The shed is open to men of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, perfectly located at the Clem Jones Centre in Carina.

The Number ONE Community Agent Shoots for Junior Sports Glory
Ok, so I may not be scoring three pointers, or gravity defying slam dunks, or have my dribbling technique down pat but I am a basketball fan, as are my three daughters who are all playing with the SOUTHERN DISTRICT SPARTANS within the SOUTHERN DISTRICTS BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION
Now I am so pleased to announce that I am an official sponsor of the Spartans, giving me an opportunity to give back to a generous community, support local junior sports, and perhaps even pick up some tips to live out my dream of being a Harlem Globe Trotter. Maybe? Ok, I’ll stick to real estate!
Check out my exclusive offer for the basketball community below. You can also keep up to date on the Spartans season on their website – https://sdbal.com.au/
Regardless of what sport you follow, if you have any real estate needs I am only a phone call away.
